What I have learned from R.G. and Evelyn LaTourneau’s remarkable lives is their ability to give to God no matter what the circumstances. During a Great Depression, the giving never stopped. They also lived well below their means that resulted in them giving 90% of their earnings as opposed to 10%. That challenges me greatly. I also learned that they allowed God to use what was considered a gift, talent, ability. No matter how small it grew substantially into a University. What a legacy only having a 6th grade education. I learned that should I fully embrace the belief that God owns everything and has given a portion to me for stewardship trusting that I return it to him – I will be far more blessed in my giving than in my receiving.
