Hendrik´s testimony is encouraging and it was a good start ti the Bible study this week. It was the Bible study that was the most encouraging for me. There is really a doctrine of work! As a missionary, it is easy to see that work and serving God go hand in hand. It is also easy to work too much or too little. There is no time clock to punch or a person looking over your shoulder. Also there is often no one to give you feedback. When working with people, one may not see any progress for a long time. It is different when you have a job where at the end of the day something is physically produced. One then celebrates when sees a life changed or when a person becomes a Christian.

The Bible study was very reaffirming to me. It wen well with the memory verse that I had “randomly” chosen to review before I started the lesson. Philippians 2.12-15 12 “So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose. 14 Do everything without grumbling and arguing, 15 so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world.”
