Mitsuru – Financial faithfulness and financial success are not mutually exclusive. However, they are very different. Faithfulness focuses on what’s in our hearts; success focuses on external things (income level, house, car). Someone can be financially faithful in God’s eyes, yet not be successful from the world’s standard. The widow Jesus commended in Mark 12 is a perfect example. She didn’t have a lot, but her heart was generous towards the Lord. At the same time, being successful doesn’t mean a person is financially unfaithful. In 1 Chronicles 29, King David acknowledged that his wealth came from God. He demonstrated faithfulness by being willing to use his riches to build God’s temple. He also encouraged the Israelites to follow his example. Hopefully this answers your question!
