I have a question about something stated in the Unwavering Hope PDF that I do not believe is accurate Biblically. On page 26 (page 12 of the PDF), just under the “Ordinary and Amazing Grace” heading, it states, “He does not give us more than we can bear…”. I don’t believe this is ever promised in the Bible. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV), it does mention that we won’t be tempted beyond what we can bear:
13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
From my experience, God does allow us to deal with more than we can bear. This forces us to rely on Him rather than ourselves. If there is a verse that support this notion that God will not give us more than we can handle, could you please point me to it?
